The POPGORGE Skinny:
I fully understand why they never gave up on this movie, Ezra Miller’s problematic and chaotic personal life notwithstanding.
For one, it’s an excellent movie. Well written. Well directed. Well acted. Ezra Miller, for all his flaws beyond the camera lens, is unnaturally charismatic and carries the entire movie on the strength of his bottomless magnetism.
For two, the movie has such a unique story and plot that it could be clearly viewed as the Great Reset of the DC cinematic universe. Everything DC henceforth could flow from this Big Bang, so to speak. Of course, this is just me talking out of my ass and drawing conclusions from what’s been trotted out of the DC franchise in the last 24 months. But, we’ll see.
